The gaze of Medusa petrifies those who dare to meet it, just as the photographer’s eye crystallizes the reality around itself, freezing the moment at the exact instant it is observed.

This gaze is also directed towards the reinterpretation of the myth: from the archetype of the femme fatale, passing through supposed female rivalry, and concluding with secondary victimization, the myth is reinterpreted in the light of a more contemporary perspective.

A collaboration emerges between the female figures of the Goddess Athena and the mortal Gorgon; the power bestowed not as punishment but as protection, ensuring that no man dares to use his gaze for seduction and violation, as Poseidon did with Medusa. This power endures over time, even after the Gorgon’s death, until its journey concludes once again with the Goddess, who places the severed head from Perseus at the center of her aegis for protection.

Female gaze, sisterhood, protection – these are the three fundamental elements of the new project: “Médouses,” the Medusas.

A space for storytelling and self-expression, where the narrative and gender interpretation, predominant until now, are overturned, reworked, and transformed into an evolutionary path for new generations of artists.
